Guidelines on how you can make your watercolor house portraits stunning.
Take photos during the day but avoid the sun in the picture.
Shooting at 'golden hour' as the sun is setting can produce beautiful results.
Wider is better. Walkout to your street or end of your driveway.
Don't use any filters. Filters degrade images and make colors less accurate.
Shoot face on or at a slight angle to the subject.
Landscape photos (horizontally framed) typically present better than vertical pictures.
For exterior shots, consider a small step stool to get a little more height.
Wait to take your photos until there are no large shadows in the frame.
Removal cars from the driveway and close to your garage doors.

Can I preview my watercolor portrait prior to shipment?
Yes. We’ll send you a proof within 2-business days to review your house portrait. We offer two free revisions should you desire any minor changes. Once you approve a proof no further chances can be made.
What are your file size requirements?
This can vary depending on the size of house portrait you are ordering. As a rule of thumb, we recommend the longest side be at least 3,000 pixels wide at 150 dpi or greater. All photos taken on a modern smartphone will meet this requirement. If you only have a low resolution photo, you will need to select our illustration style, which does not have a minimum file size.
Can you work with non-digital photos?
Yes! Non-digital files (or a picture of a non-digital photo) require you to choose our illustration style, as this style is hand-drawn from scratch by our in-house illustrators.
What is a digital watercolor portrait?
All three of our watercolor house portrait styles start as digital files. This means we either apply advanced photo processing or hand drawn illustration to accomplish a watercolor look via digital graphic design software and tools. This allows for maximum flexibility should you want minor revisions once we send you a proof of your house portrait, and if you order the digital file, allows you to share it easily with friends and order your own prints.
Can you remove objects from my images?
Yes. We offer major object removal. We can remove objects such as cars in a driveway, fences, trash cans, realtor signs or people. Make sure you select the Major Object Removal option under Extras when ordering.
Do you do photo processing / editing?
Yes. We first complete a round of real estate photo editing to your image prior to starting the digital watercolor conversion process.
What is your return policy?
Due to the highly custom nature of house portrait products, we do not accept returns on house portraits. That said, if you are unhappy with your proof PRIOR to approval, we offer two free revisions. Please contact our support team with photos if your house portrait was damaged in the mail and we’ll work with you to send a replacement as soon as possible.
